Our guest today is, real life Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, newly elected California State Senator Brian Dahle. The good Senator talks about his journey into California politics and why he does it. We discuss the challenges and joys of having a platform to make real and lasting change in northeastern California. Dahle, with his wife Megan and their three children own and operate their own business in Lassen County called Big Valley Seed Company. He knows how to represent his constituents as he is one of them. Dahle talks about how he gets things done by being willing to treat his political opponents as friends instead of enemies. Not an easy task in the toxic and divided political climate that engulfs our country. A little small town goodness goes a long way towards real progress.

My guest today is Marvin Pratt, Director of Environmental Health and Safety for California State University Chico. He was raised with conservative political views in a small town in Shasta County. After 20 plus years in the California State University system, his views have been slowly shaped by an abundance of liberal perspectives. Now, he lives neither on the right or on the left but has found his place smack dab in the middle. It's a sweeter view.

Our special guest today is Jonathon Dunne, international host of an amazing podcast called Freedom's Disciple hosted by Glenn Beck's Blaze Radio Network. It's an Irishman's take on American exceptionalism. Jonathon explores the "idea" of America and self-evident principles from this nation's founding documents. He understands and more importantly appreciates the idea of American ideals and a nation founded upon solid principles. I will also say he has helped me realize I have taken the freedoms this country allows for granted. I know this American will be brushing up on my history. Jonathon's podcast can be heard on the following platforms: iTunes, Stitcher, SoundCloud, PodBean, CastBox, or any of your other favorite podcasting apps.
