Episode 173: Tiffany Sowby | Founder of Rising Violet
Sunday Jun 23, 2024
Sunday Jun 23, 2024
Today my guest is Tiffany Sowby, founder of a new foundation, Rising Violet, supporting mostly women who are trying to establish financial independence from previous partners who were the sole bread winners. Many women feel cultural expectations and pressure to rely entirely upon their partners for financial security, but due to death, divorce, and other circumstances, later find they are unable to provide for themselves or their family.
Tiffany shares her story behind the creation of Rising Violet, who Violet was and why they do what they do. Tiffany is also the co-host of the fun podcast called The Sisterhood Podcast

Welcome back to the program ya'll.
On the show today is my queer daughter Eden Strader. She came out to us three years ago. The process was a serious growth challenge for us as her parents. We handled it a little bit right but mostly wrong. Not out of malice but ignorance. A lot of damage was done but we've learned how to love better and deeper. It was a rough time in our story but we now have a healthy relationship, loving her as she is and will continue to be. She gives us a lot of back story to...well...her story.

Ladies and gentlemen, and whoever else is listening. Welcome back again to the show.
This may be one of the most intriguing episodes in the last 5 years. Several months ago I interviewed author Charlene Paul, Episode 159, who wrote a book called Devotion Deliverance Deception, Keep Sweet - Pray and Obey, Isaac's Story about a young mans' life journey inside the FLDS Church and the world of polygamy and mind control.
Today we have the subject of that book, Isaac Steed with us.
Buckle up for a more in-depth look at what it was like growing up, and living a "happy normal childhood" inside the FLDS Church and the tightrope walking it took to survive under the total and absolute control of the then leader Warren Jeffs and what it was like to be banished in an instant for no apparent reason after literally devoting EVERYTHING to the group.

My guest today is the author of The Gift of a Punishment-Free Childhood, Rebecca Woulfe.
This book is a refreshing oasis for parents—a loving and humorous account of one mother’s journey of parenting her children without punishment. Rebecca Woulfe empowers you to trust your instincts, address each child’s unique needs, and uncover the solutions that work for your family. Practical guidance accompanies each developmental stage, revealing the “how” and “why” of these strategies.
You will discover the transformative power of parenting without punishment in Woulfe’s groundbreaking book. With real-life examples and a touch of humor, she shares her personal journey of creating healthy, nurturing relationships with her children. Unveiling the ineffectiveness of punishment, her age-appropriate alternatives foster discipline and maintain a loving bond.
Whether you have a toddler, tween, or teenager, you can apply Woulfe’s techniques throughout your parenting journey. It’s never too late or too early to join her in exploring the power of creativity and compassion. Step into a world where punishment is replaced with effective discipline and watch as your parent-child relationship flourishes.
We even talk about how the punishment free concept can be applied in the workplace, friendships and even intimate relationships.

My guest today is Troy Warner of First Class Home Mortgage. We talk about the current concerns in the market and why it's still a great time to own real estate, if you can manage it of course. It also may not be a dark as it seems. One tip. Stop watching the media as basis for your research in making real estate decisions.
