Today my guest is author and License Clinical Social Worker, Nathan Sellers. We talk about his new novel/therapy book that reads like a Richard Paul Evans story. The life lessons learned by the story’s main character can connect with all of us as we play in the arena of life. Book Summary: Robert’s life as an art restorer is ripped away when he is blinded in an untimely accident. Depressed at the loss of his career and connection to his passion, he drowns in darkness. After his death years later, he is shocked to arrive in the afterlife still blind. Paradigms are shattered as he comes to understand that to have his sight restored he will need to challenge his pessimistic, myopic focus and “see” what he failed to see in life, even before he went blind. Will he spend eternity in a self-inflicted , or will he abandon his lifelong blindness to see Heaven? SIGHT takes you on a journey through pain, trauma, bitterness, and resentment to discover the power of forgiveness and healing by opening one’s eyes to the good that always exists in the world around you.

I get to share my story and what my motivation was behind starting my own podcast called Parrish the Thought. We talk about the people I chat with on my podcast, and obstacles I've had to overcome with my show. My next guest is Lauren Harigian, a 32 year old trans athlete. The genesis of her journey really began back in 2010 when she felt she could no longer be honest and live as a man. She has been undergoing hormone therapy for the better part of 5 years and as part of her journey she as also been the subject of a study by Arizona Public Televison and Arizona State University on how hormone therapy affects the body of trans atheletes.

My guest today is retired Utah State Prison Correction Officer, Jason Gurney.
He spent 24 years inside the prison system. Early in his career as a young 22 year old officer he played a small part in HBO’s documentary, Gladiator Days: Anatomy of A Prison Murder, The story of Troy Kell, now on death row for the murder of a fellow inmate back in 1996.
We talk about the day to day experiences and the challenges of trying to make difference in the lives of our incarcerated brothers in an often thankless job and how he kept his humanity in the process.

As a seasoned entrepreneur and business coach, he knows the challenge of chasing something bigger. He loves spending every minute with wife while getting charged being around other men pursuing something bigger than themselves. He is a living contradiction, and so are you. He and his family live at the foot of the Wasatch Mountain Range. (Utah is the most beautiful place in the world and he’ll fight you on that). We love to spend our days together camping, hiking, kayaking, mountain biking, skiing… pretty much anything that can be done in the wild.

One year ago this past September my next guest Kris Kristensen had life changing surgery that took the left side of his pelvis and entire left leg due to stage 4 bone cancer. Had he not had the surgery the cancer would have surely taken his life.
9 months ago I had him on the program to talk about how he was mentally and physically adjusting to his new life. He had just been fitted with a magic leg.
Today he is back to share more of his recovery journey and how he has made friends with the leg but still struggles with some of the collateral damage since the surgery and most importantly some of the huge, ongoing takeaways and life observations.

My guest today is the CEO of Vortechs Management based in Layton, Utah, Paul Burgon.
He and his team of super smarty smart genius types are revolutionizing and putting the back into the recycling industry by making it so simple, even a teen-ager can do it. I mean, like, who wouldn’t want that.
Vortechs Waste to Energy is a startup company that has nine patents pending for a "village scale," hyper-efficient recycling system that can recycle any hydrocarbon--any plastic, used motor oil, shredded tire, coal waste, or the car interior from a recycled car. We recycle where the waste is, rather than shipping hydrocarbon waste hundreds of miles to very large, very expensive facilities (which dramatically increases the carbon footprint). The Vortechs WasteNgine is a village-scale system that can be installed behind a retail distribution center, at an existing landfill, or on any half acre industrial or commercial site. We recycle any hydrocarbon waste profitably, without government subsidies, and without washing, sorting, or shredding waste prior to recycling.

My guest today is a young man who, only three short years ago, was depressed, broke, rejected by family and friends. Drudging through dead end jobs, working himself to the bone for a meager $10/hour barely making payments on a Toyota Corolla.
Since then he has risen, literally, to the top of the door to door sales industry ending his 2021 season with over a million dollars in sales and over 1200 accounts sold becoming THE number one sales agent in the industry.
His reward. At age 23 he was able to pay cash for a Lamborghini Gallardo.
He truly is in a league of his own. Please help me in welcoming Austin Pritchard as we take a journey from the dark spaces of the heart and mind to the pinnacle of his existence...at least for now. He is only 23.
